Yes it’s done. Another year, another 99frames - The Social Animation Project. Wow we’re so excited about the vast amount high quality submissions this year… The next days our Judges will review all the submissions and send in their Top 10. We will announce the winner here on our blog.
And now we’ll gather up the Judges and hide in our secret lab to judge over your awesome entries.

All about 99frames 2012
What’s new in 99frames 2012
This year i would like to announce some changes to how 99frames 2012 will take part. I learned a lot about what worked and what didn’t from the very first 99frames project last year. So let’s dive right into it.
1.) Theme
Try to avoid the 99frames logo, the number 99, etc.. Do something new, something beautifully animated. Use mograph, sculpting, dynamics or anything within CINEMA 4D. Remember that 99frames 2012 is about having fun and to learn new features of CINEMA 4D R14, so if you can use R14 do so.
2.) Version restriction
I wanted to get rid off the newest version (R14) restriction to open the doors for even more people. So this year no need to stick to R14, use any version of CINEMA4D to create the most stunning imagery you can.
3.) Technical Requirements
- Resolution must be at 1280x720 px
- Your Projects frame rate must be 30 fps
- The entire project length is 99 frames (0-98f) not more not less :)
I can’t stress this enough, please make sure you’ll meet the requirements mentioned above. I had to disqualify a tons of great entries just because they didn’t met the requirements. So PLEEEEEEEAAAAASSSSE take some time to check them out before submitting your entry.
4.) The final output movie
Due to the high demand of last years 99frames, i must restrict the final movie (The reel) to the Top 50 entries. I truly believe that we will end up with tons of gorgeous entries this year. But i also think that no one feels like watching a reel of 20 minutes long. Anyhow, the 99frames 2012 Vimeo group will house all your entries and they will be visible to everybody around the world.
The Top 10 entries, which are being chosen by our judges will win outstanding cool prizes and endless fame :)
